Zappa Music Bar
Located at Rechengasse 5, Zappa Music bar is located near the student housing and offers all patrons a night filled with great music and favorable drink. The ambiance is dark and smoky featuring comfortable movie-theatre seats. With a great staff and excellent services, the bar is open from 6pm to 2 am everyday.
Krahvogel
A combination of a bistro and a bar, the Krahvogel offers a wide variety of tasty food in a facility that is nicely designed. It is an ideal place to take friends and clients for a great night out experience. Krahvogel has a website through which the clients can choose their table before making a reservation. They can start their night at the Krahvogel and move to the Couch club nearby to enjoy the great music including house, hip hop and electro. It is situated at Anichstrasse and is open from 10pm to 2pm, Monday through Saturday and 5pm to 1am on Sunday and Holidays. The kitchen is open until 11.45pm.
Elferhaus
Situated in the middle of Altstadt along Herzog-friedrich-Strasse 11, the Elferhaus is a café-cum-bistro-cum-bar. The guests will need to squeeze through the wide, narrow and loud spaces in the bar area to find a table at the back. With an excellent beer selection, Elferhaus features a band every 11th day of the month and it is usually open from 10am-2am daily with the kitchen closing at 10.00pm.
Café Sphinx
Next to the Krahvogel but situated in a small passage on Anischstrasse 8, guests will be treated to a comfortable and authentic upstairs hookah bar. Café sphinx provides its patrons with a wide variety of tea and tobacco. It is recommendable that guests in groups of more than four people to make reservations. They patrons will also be treated to occasional live music including Egyptian classics and pop as well as belly-dancing. Hours of operation are from 3.00pm to 1.00am Monday through Friday and 3.00pm to 2.00am on Saturdays.
Blue Chip Club
As one of the popular dance clubs, the Blue Chip Restaurant is located at the Wilhelm-Greil-strasse 17, near the Bozner Platz. It is opened thrice in a week: Wednesday-student night from 9.00am-4.00am, Friday and on Saturday from 10.00pm to 4.00am. If you are planning to go there on Wednesday, you should get there very early.
Café Central
Located at Gilmstrasse 5, Café central is usually open daily from 7.30am-11.00pm. It features high ceilings and chandeliers. On Sundays in October the Central becomes a Piano lounge from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.
Promethaus
Found along Hofgasse 2 Altstadt, Promethaus is a café-cum-disco club. It occupies two floors with the chill music café upstairs offering specials and happy hour from 9-10pm. On the ground floor is the disco with a gothic/punk atmosphere. Café is open Monday through Friday from 7pm-2am while disco is on Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 10pm-2pm and on Friday from 10pm-4pm.
Other clubs include the Hofgarten, Bogenstrasse and Theresienbrau among others.
